OUR SERVICES

PICC

A peripherally inserted central catheter, also known as a PICC line, is a long, flexible tube (catheter) that is inserted into a vein in your upper arm. After insertion, the catheter is threaded to a central vein near the heart. The PICC line can be used to deliver fluids,  medications, draw blood, or perform blood transfusions.

A midline catheter is long flexible tube (catheter) that is inserted into a vein in your upper arm. Midlines are typically used for infusion and short-term intravenous therapies lasting less than 30 days.

Staff Education

Staff education and training is paramount to patient safety and satisfaction. Ocean Access Piccs is available for periodic staff education and training. Our curriculum is based on CDC guidelines and has proven to decrease catheter related adverse events and lower catheter related infections. Our curriculum includes indications for intravascular catheter use, maintenance of intravascular catheters, and appropriate infection control measures to prevent intravascular catheter-related infections. We are also available to periodically assess staff knowledge of and adherence to guidelines for all personnel involved in the insertion and maintenance of intravascular catheters.
